- Pile
During the weaving process, the fur pile is laid in one direction. This is what makes “climbing” and “gliding” possible in the first place. The fur pile is treated to be hydrophobic and remains permanently water-repellent.
- MONTANA spezial
“Montana spezial” prevents lateral fraying when cutting the climbing skins.
- Lamination
The waterproof laminate film is a reliable protective barrier against water ingress. This keeps the climbing skins dry even in wet snow.
- Backing material
The backing material consists of a blended fabric with polyester and cotton. It is firmly bonded to the laminate with the base fabric. This type of bonding ensures that the climbing skin remains very flexible and supple even at low temperatures.
- Adhesive layer
The specially developed MONTANA adhesive is applied to the backing material. The resin adhesive, which has been tried and tested for decades, is a reliable companion for every type of ascent. The adhesive is particularly suitable for the new generation of rocker skis. Thanks to its high adhesive strength, the climbing skin stays securely on the ski even at low temperatures.
